Job Description
Safety Coordinator
JOB SUMMARY
This position coordinates activities related to the environmental health, safety, and workers’ compensation at Kettle Cuisine in accordance with company standards.
DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
·         Mitigate risk for safety and workers’ compensation claims
·         Work with medical providers to ensure that injured workers and getting the care that they need in a timely manner
·         Maintain OSHA logs and all other required documents and postings
·         Manage modified duty program
·         Investigate injuries and near misses, perform root cause analysis, document findings, and make recommendations
·         Ensure that the IIPP is up-to-date
·         Develop and deliver safety training as well as guide walk throughs and inspections
·         Manage lock out tag out program, training, keys, and locks
·         Maintain training logs and documentation
·         Coordinate activities of Safety Committee
·         Implement safety incentive programs
·         Order and distribute personal protective equipment including safety boots, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.
·         Assist with OSHA audits
·         Coordinate safety evaluations on new and existing equipment and processes and maintain documentation on standard operating procedures
·         Coordinate confined space and other safety programs
OTHER FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Special projects as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
·         Associate’s degree or equivalent in a related field
·         3-5 years’ experience maintaining workers’ compensation programs in a manufacturing environment. Food industry experience preferred. Must have experience working effectively with safety programs.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
·         Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills
·         Basic computer knowledge (Excel and Word)
·         Food safety knowledge a plus
·         Can read, write and speak English. Spanish is helpful.
·         Can follow and retain instructions
·         Ability to work in a collaborative environment
REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
OSHA 30 hour preferred
